Credit Valley Conservation Forest Management Plan Development

Credit Valley Conservation Forest Management Plan Development

The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to solicit proposals from qualified consultants to produce a 20 year Forest Management Plan (FMP) for Credit Valley Conservation (CVC).

To date, CVC has held a number of consultative internal and external sessions and has developed an advanced draft of the FMP document. The successful consultant shall use the annotated outline and draft materials as a basis to produce a complete and concise document through further technical writing, analysis of inventory data, professional editing and periodic consultation with CVC staff.

The CVC FMP will serve primarily as the guiding document for all forest management activities on CVC properties. Many of the objectives and practices established by this FMP will also be used when assisting municipal partners and private landowners with forest management plans and activities.

The FMP will set out the objectives and future direction and priorities for forest management planning and operations within the Credit Valley Watershed, where the guiding principle is to protect, restore and enhance the integrity and health of forest ecosystems in the Watershed through sustainable forest management.
